Chelsea new boy Traore hoping to emulate Drogba, Essien, Eto'o

Chelsea signing Bertrand Traore wants to follow in the footsteps of great Africans who have played for the southwest London club before him.

The 18-year old Burkina Faso midfielder officially joined the Blues on New Year's Day on a four-and-a-half-year deal before being loaned out to Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem.

Upon his brief arrival at Stamford Bridge, Traore told the club's official website that he would one day like to emulate some of his fellow Africans who have donned the blue shirt.

"I'm an attacking midfielder. I can play in the No. 10 position, I can play on the wings and I'm good on the ball. I can shoot well and am strong in a one vs. one situation, so I can score goals," he said.

"My favourite players are Juan Mata, Mesut Ozil and Eden Hazard. They're very good players and I am trying to be like them.

"At Chelsea I look to follow the way of some African legends like Didier Drogba, Michael Essien and now Samuel Eto'o."
