N'Golo Kante says he has to train just as hard as everybody else in order to produce his best on match day.
The French midfielder was one of the stars of the Premier League for title-winners Leicester City last season, using his elite fitness to produce a massive number of tackles, blocks, interceptions and passes.
Kante has had a shortened pre-season after playing for France at Euro2016 and ahead of his first appearance in tonight's International Champions Cup clash wth AC Milan in Minneapolis, told Chelsea TV that he is intent on reaching full fitness before the Premier League season opener in less than two wweek's time.
"I need to get fit because I have just come from a holiday, I had a little break since the Euros, and now the pre-season comes and I have to be ready for the Premier League," he said.
"I think what is important to fight for winning the ball it is the spirt. I have had that since I started playing football, so it is the spirit but I need to be fit for doing it.
"Like everyone I am sometimes tired, but if I need to run I will try to run."
