Chelsea and Manchester United are competing for Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila.
The Daily Star Sunday says United have been tracking the defensive midfielder at Rennes and were eyeing a £15m deal.
But Carlo Ancelotti's planned offer would put the Blues in pole position - despite M'Vila saying his dream is to play for United.
M'Vila, 20, is also a target for Liverpool, Spurs, Aston Villa and Real Madrid.
But Chelsea believe they can win what is set to be one of the hottest transfer battles of the summer.
And his arrival would place a big question mark against John Obi Mikel's position at Stamford Bridge.
