Chelsea midfielder Obi Mikel told to choose between his bling and Nigeria

Chelsea ace John Obi Mikel has been told to choose between his bling and his country!

Obi Mikel's fellow English-based players Peter Odemwingie, Victor Anichebe, Dickson Etuhu, Shola Ameobi and Victor Moses have also been hit by the bling ban imposed by new coach Stephen Keshi.

The 49-year-old hardliner has vowed to shake up the Super Eagles squad following their failure to qualify for the African Nations Cup finals.

And he has warned his stars they face the axe if they sport any jewellery on national duty.

"The national team camp is no breeding ground for players who want to show off," Keshi declared.

"If we were Indians, I would understand, because it's part of their culture. But men wearing earrings is alien to Nigerian culture, and no player is permitted here to wear them. We're in for serious business, because we want to return our country to the top, and any player that is not ready will be shown the exit door.

"I will not quarrel with any player. But anyone who flouts camp rules should pack his bag and leave the camp before I react negatively."
