Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount happy with Vitesse progress

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount feels he's fast improving on-loan at Vitesse Arnhem.

Mount has been working his way into the first team at Vitesse.

He told chelseafc.com: "I knew at the start it would be difficult. I was coming from the Under-19 European Championships so I arrived later. They had had a whole pre-season of training and had worked on their team before I joined, so I just had to work hard and prove to the manager what I am capable of doing and bringing to the team.

"In training I had the opportunity to show what I'm about. I always train to my best and try to work as hard as I can. One of the first times I came on I scored, with my first touch, so that was good, and soon after I came on again and scored as well. That helped me a lot. I kept working hard in training, and when I got my chance I just tried to take it. I have started the last few games and I want to play every game from now on."

Mount added: "The experience I am getting is invaluable. This is my first season in a senior league with a senior team and it will take me on and further me as a player."
