Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard accepts this World Cup will be his last.
The level of despondency following the team's opening match is not shared by Lampard, who is focused on making 2010 a year to remember for his country as well.
"It probably will be my last World Cup and that's why I'm determined to enjoy it," said Lampard. "I didn't enjoy the last one for obvious reasons, it didn't go well for me and the team. I went into it with a lot expected of me after a hot streak of goals during qualification and it didn't go well.
"World Cups only come around every four years and there are fantastic teams out there - Brazil, Italy and Spain. It is a very difficult thing to win.
"Modern football is not about having the best group of players it's about being organised. If we're honest, we can say over the last few years we have had very good players but we have let ourselves down as a team in not being organised together."
