Chelsea midfielder Kyle Scott missed out on a deadline day move to Reading.

The Sun says Scott was denied a deadline day switch to Reading – due to Danny Drinkwater's last gasp move from Leicester City.

The Blues had to apply for an extension from the Premier League in order to complete the England international's move from the King Power stadium.

Drinkwater's switch to Stamford Bridge was on hold while the Foxes signed Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva.

While all this was happening, Scott, 19, was watching on hoping he could make his own move in time before the 11pm deadline.

Blues boss Antonio Conte was not going to risk allowing Scott to leave whilst Drinkwater was not finalised, leaving the academy star in limbo.
