Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante admits he rejected Jose Mourinho and Manchester United last summer.

Kante says he had contact from Mourinho while considering his future with Leicester City.

He told L'Equipe magazine: "Why did I choose Chelsea, despite José Mourinho's phone calls? It was a difficult choice.

"It could also have been good to play the Champions League with Leicester. The first contact was with (Antonio) Conte. He had a clear idea of my profile, what he wanted for me, a two-field midfield shot. He explained how he worked, tactically, and why I would learn a lot from him.

"And, above all, he wanted to win!"
