Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is facing the England axe.
Lamps has been an England regular for a decade but could be dropped for Saturday's game against Wales, says The Sun.
Lampard, 32, has 84 caps but has struggled for top form in an injury-hit season.
Three Lions boss Capello is certain to start with Arsenal star Jack Wilshere.
Then he is likely to decide between Gareth Barry and Scott Parker for the defensive midfield role.
This means Lampard could find himself squeezed from the team with Aaron Lennon and James Milner set to be played out wide for the Euro 2012 qualifier.
