Chelsea may again have summer clean out

Chelsea FC could be forced to have another clean out of players this summer after a very disappointing season.

The reigning Premier League and FA Cup champions will walk away empty-handed this term after being eliminated from the Champions League by Manchester United on Tuesday night.

After claiming the crown last campaign, Blues officials let the likes of Michael Ballack, Deco and Ricardo Carvalho leave the club as they looked to prepare some young players for top flight football.

But that plan has failed to work and this time they are again likely to look at getting rid of a host of experienced players and replacing them with more youngsters, but ones with far more potential than the current crop.

Jose Bosingwa is one player who is almost certain to depart Stamford Bridge in the summer whilst the futures of Yuri Zhrikov, Florent Malouda, Paulo Ferreira and even Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba are clouded.

Players like Lille winger Eden Hazard, Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku and Santos starlet Neymar are all on the Chelsea hit-list so it will be interesting to see which path they take this summer.
