Chelsea No2 Ray Wilkins has hinted management expect John Obi Mikel to step up his game next season.

Reviewing the Nigeria midfielder's campaign, Wilkins says Obi Mikel's talent is not in question.

He told chelseafc.com: "John is a talented young man, there is no question about that, and he has had another solid season doing what he does best, which is quietly going about his job in front of the defence.

"We've had a lot of clean sheets this season and John has more than played his part."
