Chelsea management delighted with progress of their England youth players

Chelsea management are delighted to have several youngsters featuring in England youth teams.

Blues reserve team manager Steve Holland says the experience this week has been great for his young players.

"For England Under 21s, it will be a great experience for Daniel Sturridge, Ryan Bertrand, Michael Mancienne and Jack Cork to play in a major international tournament in the summer, it is good news that they have qualified. I saw bits of the game in Romania on Tuesday afternoon, most of the staff were trying to catch it as the afternoon went on and it was a hard-fought game," he told chelseafc.com.

"Regarding England Under 19s, we have been in constant touch with their coach Noel Blake regarding Josh McEachran, considering he has appeared in two of the last three Chelsea first-team games and he is likely to be involved at Villa He has not played 90 minutes in either game which means he should be relatively fresh at the weekend.

"Noel has been good to us there and it is something that the club appreciates because you are always trying to have a longer-term view and although it is good for Josh to play for his country, three 90 minutes in a short space of time and then to be potentially required on the pitch at Villa would have been difficult for a young lad at 17."
