Chelsea, Man Utd closer to landing Villa

Villa is upset over the dramatic changes new coach Ronald Koeman is making at the Mestalla, with three senior players - Santiago Canizares, David Albelda and Miguel Angel Angulo - all told to find new clubs this week.

Villa's agent, Jose Luis Tamargo, who also represents Angulo, admitted last night that the Spain striker was assessing his future with Valencia.

"Villa wants to play for a team capable of winning trophies," he said.

Koeman's actions have unsettled the star man, who remains a big-money target for Chelsea, Spurs and United.
