Chelsea, Man City using unsettled Bayern Munich striker Gomez as Cavani contingency

Recent reports suggest that Bayern Munich's Mario Gomez has emerged as a target for Chelsea and Manchester City.

The Premier League duo have been put on alert after Gomez's agent Uli Ferber confirmed his client was not happy with his situation at the Allianz Arena.

27-year old Germany international Gomez has started just seven times in the Bundesliga this season, making a total of 16 appearances for the impressive return of eight goals, but has fallen out of favour since the arrival of Mario Mandzukic from Wolfsburg last summer.

Chelsea and City are both keen on Napoli's Edinson Cavani but will turn their attentions to Gomez if the Uruguayan remains in Italy.
