Chelsea have joined the race for AS Roma defender Marquinhos.

Sky Italia says Chelsea have joined long-term suitors Manchester City and Barcelona in the battle for the young Brazilian.

All three clubs have submitted formal bids for the 19 year-old, though Roma have no intentions to sell.

The concern for Roma, however, is that Marquinhos' camp has been pushing for new contract talks amid the growing interest. For the moment, Roma have told Marquinhos he should be satisfied with his current deal.
