Chelsea have made an offer to former Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain.
The man who assembled Barca's cleansweep squad of 2009 is currently out of work after leaving the club last month.
Sport says Chelsea have tabled an offer to Begiristain and want an answer from him by September. He was planning to take time off from the game until January, but Chelsea's approach has forced those plans out the window.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants him to take a sporting director's role at the English champs, giving him full control of transfer policy and coaching appointments.
