Chelsea have had a bid for Valencia star Andre Gomes turned down.

The Mirror says Chelsea have had a bid in the region of £40m for Valencia midfielder Gomes rejected.

The Portugal international is expected to leave the Mestalla this summer after Los Che failed to qualify for the European competition next season.

Serie A champions Juventus had been leading the race to sign the 22-year-old until Chelsea signalled their intent with an offer in excess of €50m.
