Chelsea to look into Torres comments

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas says the club will look into an interview involving Fernando Torres following suggestions he criticised some teammates. The under-fire Spanish striker spoke to the La Liga's official website last week with English translations of the interview appearing all over football sites shortly after.

Torres was quoted as saying some of his Blues teammates were 'old and slow' and now the club will look to get a copy of the tape to see exactly what was said by the £50million signing.

"We are going in-depth to regain the tape of that interview," Villas-Boas said.

"We'll see if things play exactly as they are in that interview."

If the translations proved to be accurate, Villas-Boas says he will sit down with Torres to talk about his thoughts.

"We'd just talk. Just talk. To share opinion," he added.

"If it was unauthorised, I'd fine him. Of course.

"Anyhow, it's one player's perspective.

"I don't think it's a perspective that the manager shares. I don't have to share my players' ideas sometimes.

"I think we have competence, apart from the 'age problem', which for me is not a problem.

"Maybe we just have to speak about that situation and he has to see our view as well."
