Chelsea's players are eager to see Guus Hiddink return to Stamford Bridge.
The London Evening Standard says Hiddink is the first choice of the Chelsea players to become the club's next boss. Hiddink, who is currently in charge of Turkey, is being strongly targeted despite his reluctance to return to club management.
The 64-year-old is still hugely popular in the Stamford Bridge dressing room following a three-month spell at the helm in 2009 when he guided Chelsea to the FA Cup and Champions League semi-finals.
He is interested in becoming the club's new director of football, but they remain optimistic that he can be persuaded to take charge. Marco van Basten and Andreas Villas-Boas are also in the frame.
