Chelsea and Liverpool are among European clubs monitoring Philippe Mexes' situation at AS Roma.
The France defender could become the hottest Bosman on the market as he continues to baulk at discussing a new contract with Roma officials.
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is a big fan of Mexes, while Liverpool's French football chief Damien Comolli is also an admirer.
