Chelsea and Liverpool have been left disappointed after Faouzi Goulam committed his future to Napoli by signing a long-term extension.
The Algerian's original contract was due to expire at the end of next season.
This lead to a host of clubs going after the talented left-back, with Liverpool reportedly having an approach rejected by Napoli in October.
With the title race well and truly alive in Italy, Napoli have nullified the threat of losing one of their key players by extending Ghoulam's contract to 2022.
Ghoulam has made 151 appearances for the club since joining from Saint Etienne.
Manchester City have also been linked with the 26-year-old.
