Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola would like to see Parma striker Antonio Cassano and AC Milan's Mario Balotelli start for Italy against England.

The Azzurri kickoff their World Cup against England next week.

"I'm really curious to see how it turns out," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"We are more experienced and they have some exciting young players - as well as some greats like Gerrard and Rooney.

"The English defence isn't as slow as it was before, but I believe that Balotelli and Cassano have the weapons to make it difficult for them."
