Chelsea legend Zola hints at bitterness over West Ham treatment

Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has hinted at unhappiness with the way he was treated by West Ham United last season.

Zola made it clear he will only manage a club with an owner or chairman who does not interfere in team matters.

"I miss certain things about management. I don't miss others," Zola told the Daily Express. "The manager has to be left alone because some decisions that he takes are dictated by things that only he can see.

"If I go back to manage in the Premier League I will make it clear beforehand that I want to be left to manage."

The Hammers are bottom after the 1-0 defeat by Birmingham but Zola said: "I'm sure West Ham will pull out of relegation trouble because they have got enough in their bag to do it."
