Chelsea legend Terry: The prospect of marking Thierry Henry kept me awake at night

Chelsea legend John Terry has revealed the one player who he most feared playing against.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, the former Blues centre-back, now with Aston Villa, discussed his all-time Premier League XI - which could not include any Chelsea players.

Up-front, Terry selected his former England teammate Wayne Rooney and ex-Arsenal star Thierry Henry, who he says kept him up at night before he had to play Arsenal.

"Coming up against Arsenal, [Henry] was so quick. He was the best by far. He had everything, like the silent assassin, could score with his head, go short, go in behind," he added on Monday Night Football.

"Literally the night before games, he is the one player in my career where I'd be thinking: 'It's going to be a tough day tomorrow.' Nobody but him had that effect on me in my career."

Terry's back-four featured Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra, with David De Gea in goal.

The midfield featured Cristiano Ronaldo, Steven Gerrard, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.

When asked to pick the best between Gerrard, Lampard or Paul Scholes, Terry said: "I'm going to say Lamps, aren't I? But I do think naturally Scholes was unbelievable. He did things I've not seen many players do. He was incredible.

"But having seen Lamps training, and seeing what he could do, he was unbelievable."
