Chelsea legend Frank Lampard can't see Arsenal changing anytime soon.
Lampard agrees with Troy Deeney after the Watford striker questioned the Gunners' bottle following Saturday's win.
He wrote for the London Evening Standard: "I was surprised by Troy Deeney speaking so openly about Arsenal's deficiencies, but not by what he actually said.
"People have discussed Arsenal's lack of backbone, the type of players in their squad and whether they can take on a battle for a long time - and nothing has changed.
"I don't think they have strengthened in the right areas year on year. They have been two or three players short of a team that can handle physical matches, which is what you need if you're going to win the League or challenge for the Champions League, for more than a decade.
"It's hard to replace someone like Patrick Vieira, but you have to at least try at some stage. Arsenal were a real powerhouse in midfield when Vieira, Emmanuel Petit and Gilberto Silva were there. It is impossible to win every week at the highest level without those physical attributes in the spine of the team. They have lacked that for far too long."
