Chelsea legend Alan Hudson wanted to see Harry Redknapp in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich brought in Rafa Benitez on a short-term deal yesterday, following Roberto Di Matteo's controversial sacking.
"I think he [Redknapp] would have been a much better choice than Benitez," said former Stamford Bridge great Hudson to the Daily Star.
"I wouldn't say Harry Redknapp is the best manager in the world but he's available after being sacked by Spurs.
"It's not as if they need a great manager to come in and turn things around massively. Chelsea have already got the players, no question about that."
