Chelsea legend Ruud Gullit has questioned the spending at Manchester United.

Gullit also believes City are "standing still" this season.

Asked why City have been unable to bring a constant stream of trophies to the club after spending so much money too, Gullit said: "It is because your position is not standing still.

"Man United spent £100m - if they spent it wisely enough I don't know because most of them are on the bench.

"But Chelsea are not sitting still, even Arsenal are trying to improve. The money they generate also from TV, a lot of teams have the possibility to improve and therefore it is difficult for Manchester City.

"The biggest problem for City is not the title, but Europe. The players they have and the experience they have, they did not do a good job in Europe and that is their main goal to win the Champions League."
