Chelsea legend Ruud Gullit has slammed Andre Villas-Boas for going to war with the club's senior players.
Gullit has slated Andre Villas-Boas for the way he is handling Chelsea's senior players - and says the young Blues boss should take a leaf out of Sir Alex Ferguson's book on how to deal with ageing stars.
The Dutch legend, and former Chelsea player-manager, told the Sunday Mirror: "You have two clubs, both in a period of transition - yet their fortunes couldn't be more contrasting.
"Alex Ferguson has handled things entirely different to Villas-Boas. He has brought youngsters through, but sees the need to keep senior players like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes happy and involved.
"Villas-Boas appears to be alienating the senior players and wants them out of the club. Yes, you need to rejuvenate and evolve but Chelsea need players like Frank Lampard, John Terry and Didier Drogba to pass on their vast experience to younger players.""Chelsea are struggling with it, but Manchester United are maintaining their challenge to win the Premier League title.
