Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola admits he had contact with Inter Milan this month.

Zola was among the contenders for the Inter job after the sacking of Frank de Boer.

Inter eventually went with Stefano Pioli, but not before considering Zola.

"The idea was there even though I knew there were other great coaches in contention," said Zola.

"They should be okay, it was an honor to be considered by the Nerazzurri."
