Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has told Olympique Marseille fans he's always wanted to return.

The Ivorian is adamant the door has always been open to returning to his old club.

Now with Phoenix Rising, Drogba told RMC: "What I am going to say about Marseille is sensitive and will be reported. Too bad. I would have liked to come back to Marseille. I've always said it.

"Now, was I part of the project when I wanted to come back? I do not know. A question of money? No never. There is a minimum to respect anyway. We never managed to find common ground.

"It's a shame."
