Chelsea legend Dixon: Torres cannot let head to drop

Chelsea striker legend Kerry Dixon says Fernando Torres must not drop his head as he continues to struggle to find that first Blues goal.

Dixon says so long as Chelsea are winning Torres can continue in a two striker system.

"I wouldn't expect the manager to necessarily persevere with the two strikers in the event of the team suffering but while the team are winning, the two players are learning to play together and possibly getting an understanding, and we can afford to persevere with it," Dixon told Chelsea TV.

"As long as the team keeps winning, everyone always says it doesn't matter who scores and everyone will keep smiling.

"Torres has got to keep getting in the positions,' Dixon added. 'His movement in the games has been excellent and his link-up play has got better and better. It was terrible for him to have to play Liverpool on his debut but he has got progressively better in each game and it is only a matter of time before the goals will come.

"And if Torres was to get goals on a regular basis towards the end of the season then the momentum grows."
