Chelsea are ready to offer £8 million for Real Madrid wing-back Royston Drenthe.

The Daily Express says Chelsea's Dutch coach Henk Ten Cate knows Drenthe well and has recommended him to manager Avram Grant. Since the departure of Arjen Robben to Real in the summer, Chelsea have no out-and-out wide man on the left - a position the Israeli is anxious to fill.
