Chelsea are launching a new bid for Bayer Leverkusen striker Andre Schurrle. The Sunday Mirror says Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo is making a blockbusting £25million bid for German star Schurrle - to fill Didier Drogba's big boots.
Di Matteo has been given the go-ahead to up his offer for the 21-year-old Bayer Leverkusen striker and provide fresh muscle up front.
Schurrle has been on the radar since a successful season in the Bundesliga followed by some cameos at Euro 2012, and opening offers have been rebuffed.
Schurrle has the kind of athleticism and power to go with some of the small, skillful recruits Chelsea have made this summer.
Personal terms will not be a problem, either, with the player swaying towards west London.
