Chelsea have launched a bid for AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli.

Sky Italia says Chelsea have tabled an official offer of €35 million for the Rossoneri centre-back.

However, Milan will not consider Romagnoli's sale and immediately rejected the offer from the Stamford Bridge club.

Chelsea turned to Romagnoli after being frustrated in attempts for Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly.

They are also in talks with Torino this week for Nikola Maksimovic.
