Olympique Marseille star Hatem Ben Arfa is a £10 million target for Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari.

The Mirror says Scolari wants an inventive talent to put extra sparkle into his team, especially in home games where dropped points have hit their title hopes. And Ben Arfa, 21 but already a French international, is the man he sees arriving at Stamford Bridge in the window if he can persuade Marseille to sell.

Ben Arfa only joined Marseille from Lyon in the summer but he could be tempted by Chelsea - and a big pay rise.

The young winger has already played in the Champions League so is ineligible for Chelsea's campaign, but it is the stuttering title bid that concerns Scolari.
