Chelsea to launch £8M bid for Feyenoord's De Guzman

The Sun says the 20-year-old starlet has been personally recommended to Roman Abramovich by the veteran Dutch coach Piet De Visser.

It was De Visser who was behind sporting director Frank Arnesen's move to Stamford Bridge and he was also the man who first brought midfielder Mikel John Obi, striker Salomon Kalou and defender Alex to the Blues' attention.

Now he has told them to make their move for De Guzman, rated as one of the brightest prospects in Dutch football.

Chelsea are confident they can persuade Feyenoord to sell their promising star, who is yet to decide whether he will play for Holland or Canada. Older brother Julian, who plays for Deportivo La Coruna, plumped for Canada.
