Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini admits he's surprised former teammate Gianfranco Zola went into management with West Ham United.
He told chelseafc.com: "He is not a guy who likes to talk like Gus [Poyet]. Gus, the day I met him I knew he was going to be a manager one day. Gianfranco I never thought that and I was quite surprised when he accepted the job for the Italy Under 21 team with Pierluigi Casiraghi.
"But I thought it was because Pierluigi was the manager and it was for the Italian Federation. When he accepted to take a job in England I was quite surprised again.
"But nevertheless, I wish him really good luck and I am sure that because he is fantastic with preparation in football and because of the way he sees football, he is going to be successful.
"There was a night out with all the old boys recently - with Dennis [Wise], with Gus, with Roberto, with Franco. We went for dinner and it was very nice to see them once again because the last time we were all together was when we were all players.
"But it was funny because now they have all been managers, they were talking in a totally different way. They all see football in a different way, they talk about players in another way. It is funny to see how things change in five or six years."
