Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has urged Belgian fans to get behind the players after the jeers heard in defeat by Spain.

A 2-0 home loss to Julen Lopetegui's Spain was far from the ideal start for Roberto Martinez.

“They booed, and that hurts," Chelsea goalkeeper Courtois told DH. “On the one hand, I understand them. We messed up the Euros and our first game back is very bad.

“On the other, people need to know that we need them, especially against big teams."
