Chelsea goalkeeper coach Christophe Lollichon has revealed PSG keeper Alphonse Areola wanted to move to Stamford Bridge.

Lollichon says he spoke with Areola over the summer and admits the former Villarreal No1 wanted to make the move.

He told Le Figaro: "We both had a lot of discussion this summer. In a very argued way.

"He wanted to come here but the final decision was not my responsibility. It would have been a pleasure to work with him."

Areola made his France debut yesterday for their 0-0 draw with Germany.
