Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is convinced teammate Frank Lampard is playing the best football of his career.
Lamps, who signed a new five-year deal in August, starred in Sunday's 2-0 win over Aston Villa.
Cech believes the midfielder, 30, is playing so well because he wants to honour his mum Pat who died six months ago.
The Blues keeper said: "It's not easy when you lose someone from your close family - but his response was brilliant. It possibly drove him forward more because he was so determined to honour his mum who was his best supporter.
"He just keeps playing at this high level."
