Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech says he may avoid surgery on his elbow in the summer.

He says there is nothing to worry about, and that he hopes to not now go under the surgeon's knife.

"It was the elbow," he said. "That's why we tried to relax a little bit. But I feel well - that's the main thing. (Not playing international friendlies) I have more time to recover if I need to.

"At the moment, I don't need to, but it's good to have it.

"I hope it will alleviate that anyway because I've been playing with that for years and nearly always managed to stay on top of it.

"So, I hope it's going to be the case again for the coming years."
