Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech admits the departure of Steve Clarke to West Ham United was a big loss for the club.
"'I think people underestimated his role here then, because when José (Mourinho) left and we had the new manager and Henk come in, but I think the key for the success of the season was Steve and we have to give him credit because it was very difficult at times, but he kept the organisation there," Cech told chelseafc.com.
"He knew exactly how the team worked before, and knew all the players so he could easily speak to the manager and help him a lot, because in the middle of the season it is hard for a new manager.
"He had a big role in that and this was the key, Avram could rely on him because he knew the place and did very well."
