Chelsea are weighing up a swap bid for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane. The Daily Express says the Blues will try and use Real Madrid's interest in Petr Cech as leverage in discussions over Varane.
It's understood Real will look to take advantage of Thibaut Courtois' return to Stamford Bridge by making a move for Cech.
It is unclear why Cech would be any more happy competing with Iker Casillas, Keylor Navas and Diego Lopez for playing time at Real than with Courtois at Chelsea.
Jose Mourinho remains a massive fan of Varane having signed him for Real from the French second division.
And with the 21-year-old unhappy with his current wages at Real, the French international could be open to a move to England.
