Chelsea have joined the queue to sign Charlie Austin from QPR.

The 25-year old striker is high on the agenda for Newcastle United but ESPN FC reports that the Blues could swoop for his services.

Austin is likely to leave QPR following their relegation from the Premier League which came despite his 18 goals in a stunning debut campaign in England's top flight.

Jose Mourinho is weighing up a summer move for a new striker after the departure of Didier Drogba and Austin's name can now be added to a list already including Gonzalo Higuain and Radamel Falcao.
