Chelsea identify Muslera as Begovic replacement

Chelsea are eyeing Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.

The Daily Mail says Chelsea have revived their interest in Muslera.

The Premier League leaders made enquiries for the Uruguay international in January but his Turkish club were not keen to sell midway through the season.

Chelsea want a replacement for Asmir Begovic who is set to join Bournemouth in the summer for around £10million.

They tried and failed to sign Craig Gordon from Celtic while also considering the merits of AC Milan's Diego Lopez, currently on loan at Espanyol, and Paris St Germain keeper Salvatore Sirigu who is on loan at Osasuna.

Muslera was recommended by former Chelsea goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon and has vast experience with 85 caps for Uruguay and more than 340 appearances under his belt for Lazio and Galatasaray.
