Chelsea icon Vialli: Abramovich always expects something special

Chelsea icon Gianluca Vialli says the pressure at the club is incredible.

The money Roman Abramovich has pumped into Chelsea has raised the bar and the pressure to succeed, says the Italian.

He told talkSPORT: "Carlo (Ancelotti) is a very good friend of mine we played together in a couple of World Cups and I consider him a great manager, a great human being and his track record speaks for itself.

"The problem is that when you manage a club like Chelsea you always have to do something special. Winning the double is what is going to keep you on the job but if you have a normal season then you might find that the owner wants to move on and find another manager.

"It's all down to the finances. The more money you spend to strengthen the team, that raises the bar, raises the standard.

"One season finishing fourth and winning the FA Cup might be enough to please the chairman and the fans but then if you spend £250m then that's not going to be good enough.

"It depends on the objectives and the objectives are defined by the amount of money you put into the club."
