Chelsea icon Frank Lampard is ready to sign for LA Galaxy. The Daily Mail says the 34-year-old Chelsea idol has been courted by Lazio, Monaco and super-rich Chinese side Ghuizho Renhe but is ready to snub their offers for the chance of becoming the new poster boy of the American league on around £4million a year.
Lampard expressed an interest in playing Stateside during Chelsea's tour of North America last summer. Galaxy had originally targeted Real Madrid's Kaka but soon switched to Lampard once it became clear Chelsea were not renegotiating his contract.
Interim manager Rafa Benitez was keen for the free-scoring midfielder to be offered an extension but it is understood the decision was already made before the Spaniard was appointed.
English clubs would like to convince Lampard to stay in the Premier League but he now seems to have made up his mind America is where he will finish his career.
