It is being reported that Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba was the subject of a lucrative offer from MLS club Seattle Sounders last month.
Turkish newspaper Star Gazete suggests that the Ivory Coast international revealed that he was recently offered a 6million ($USD8.2m) deal by the Sounders.
A translated excerpt from the Turkish publication read: "I got an offer from the team in Seattle, USA.
"They give 6 million euros. Cim-Bom (nickname for Galatasaray) stayed in, but I'd like to euro 9 million for 1 +1 year."
They are words reportedly from the mouth of Drogba who is believed to be pondering his future in Istanbul with his current contract expiring in June.
A few weeks ago, however, the Sounders played down the links as simply rumours despite some journalists tweeting that Seattle had a deal in place for the former Chelsea star.
