Thibaut Courtois says he is looking forward to challenging Petr Cech for the number one shirt at Chelsea this season.
The 22-year old Belgian goalkeeper is back from a stunningly successful three-year loan spell with Atletico Madrid and is eager to become the top gloveman at Stamford Bridge after initially joining the Blues from Genk in 2011.
Courtois, who won the Spanish title with Atleti last season, says the situation at Chelsea is similar to with the Rode Duivels where he competes with the likes of Simon Mignolet and Sammy Bossut for first team action.
"It's the same with the Belgian national team, it helps the players to improve themselves and play even better - that's perfect for me," he told Chelsea TV.
Courtois added: "I'm really happy to be here and I will do my best to win games and achieve trophies."
During his time at the Vicente Calderon, Courtois amassed 154 appearances for Los Rojiblancos while helping the Madrid outfit win the 2013/14 La Liga title, the 2012/13 Copa del Rey, the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League and 2012 UEFA Super Cup.
