Chelsea will not push through any deal for Liverpool ace Fernando Torres while there are concerns over a fresh groin injury.
The Daily Star says Chelsea are waiting to find out how bad Torres' groin injury is before deciding on a bid.
Torres is top of Roman Abramovich's wanted list with the Chelsea owner keen to land him in a minimum £40m deal.
Abramovich has spent the last week in South Africa trying to boost his chances of signing the Spanish star.
Torres collapsed in extra-time of the final with a groin problem and hobbled away from Soccer City for scans and X-rays. Liverpool will discover in the next 24 hours how long Torres will be out for, but fear it could be up to six weeks.
But unless Torres is told he will be out for several months it is understood Abramovich will continue his pursuit, despite claims by Liverpool that he is not for sale.
Liverpool will keep in touch with Spain's medical staff, but new boss Roy Hodgson will not be able to meet Torres until the end of the month.
Abramovich is hoping Torres hands in a transfer request on his return to Anfield.
